Jada Pinkett Smith portrayed the mobster Fish Mooney in "Gotham" season 1 but ultimately met her end before the season was over. The character made a brief cameo return in season 2 when Hugo Strange (B.D. Wong) brought her back to life and now it has been confirmed that this new Fish Mooney is coming back for season 3.

"Gotham" executive producer Danny Cannon recently posted a teaser image of Fish Mooney via Twitter, revealing that the character is indeed going to have a more prominent role in the upcoming season. The photo also reveals Fish Mooney wearing a new costume, one that plays on the character's name while instilling a sense of dread and fear.

As stated in a report from Cinema Blend, Fish gained the ability to control people's minds and managed to form her own gang of followers during her brief stint in season 2. This may allow her to become a real threat to the Gotham Police Department as they will need to deal with her minions as well as her own psychic powers.

She is noted for being a small-time mob boss that carved her own eye out during imprisonment in an island to eventually being killed off and brought back to life, creating one of the most versatile original characters in the "Batman" mythos. The report also points out that the show is giving its original characters just as much spotlight as those based from the comic books such as Oswald aka the Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor).

It is undetermined if Fish will stick around for the entirety of season 3 or if she will only stand as a temporary villain before the main villain of the season rises and steps into the forefront. Fans also speculate that with Fish returning there is a chance of Jerome (Cameron Monaghan) returning, this time as the Joker.
