Nexus 6 vs Galaxy Note 4 comparison: Which Android phablet is better?

Google took everyone by surprise after it released the new Nexus 6, which is the company's entry to the phablet category.

The Nexus 6 will be available for preorder starting Oct. 29, but Google did not disclose the concrete shipping dates of the device. The device is speculated to hit the market in November. The Samsung Galaxy Note 4, on the other hand, will be available starting today from major U.S. carriers.

Below is the comparison of Google Nexus 6 and Samsung Galaxy Note 4 specs and features.

Screen Display

Google Nexus 6 packs a 5.96-inch AMOLED display with Quad HD (1440 x 2560) resolution and a pixel density of 493 ppi. With its almost 6.0-inch screen size, it slightly belittles Samsung Galaxy Note 4's 5.7-inch screen display. However, the latter has a 1440 x 2560 screen resolution and 515 ppi.

Processor

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is available in two variants using different processors – one is powered by quad-core 2.7 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, while the other variant includes a 64-bit enabled octo-core Exynos 5433 chipset with quad-core 1.9 GHz Cortex A57 and quad-core 1.3 GHz Cortex A53 CPUs. The Nexus 6, on the other hand, is powered by the latest quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor clocked at 2.7 GHz.

Internal Storage

The Google Nexus 6 is available in 32 GB and 64 GB storage variants. Meanwhile, the fourth generation of Samsung Galaxy Note has a 32 GB of internal storage.

Operating System

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 was released with Android 4.4.4 Kitkat OS that will be upgraded to Android 5.0 Lollipop. Google Nexus 6, on the other hand, runs with the new Android 5.0 Lollipop, which is claimed as the biggest Android update yet.

Camera

The Samsung phablet includes a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and 8x digital zoom and a 3.7 MP front-facing camera, but Nexus 6 boasts a 13-megapixel primary camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing shooter.

Battery

Both phablets are supported with 3,220 mAh battery pack.
