The upcoming Google Nexus 6 will pack the specs and features of Xiaomi Mi 4, according to a report.
Chinese mobile manufacturer Xiaomi continued to make waves in the smartphone market as a new report from Pop Herald claimed that Google's upcoming handset will come with similar specs with the line up of Xiaomi's flagship phone – Mi 4.
The Mi 4 features a 5-inch full-HD screen, a quad-core 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 processor, 2GB of RAM, a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and 16GB of 64GB of internal memory. The device will also run Xiaomi's custom MIUI operating system, which is a skinned version of Android operating system.
Surprisingly, the smartphone offers fair hardware specs and features, except for the operating system. If these features will be paired with the popular Android operating system, it will be on par with other high end Android-based smartphones from various makers like Samsung, LG, HTC and Sony.
The Xiaomi Mi 4 was released in an elaborate event in Beijing where the company's chief executive announced that it aimed to challenge the upcoming iPhone 6. The Xiaomi Mi 4 will be available on July 29 for 1999 yuan or $320, which is almost half of the price of iPhone 5S that costs $650. It is expected that the smartphone will be a great success in China. However, there is no word yet if the smartphone will reach the western shores, especially in the US.
Meanwhile, previous rumors claimed that Google Nexus 6 will pack high end specs that includes a 64-bit version of its Snapdragon 800-series chipset clocked at 3 GHz; 5.2-inch full-HD, curved LCD display protected with Corning Gorilla Glass; 3 GB RAM; 13 MP camera and a 5 MP front-facing camera; Bluetooth; NFC; Micro-USB; Wi-Fi; and 4G. However, Google has not confirmed any of the aforementioned rumors.
Google Nexus 6 release date will most likely take place in October or November. The aforementioned time frame has been the official release date window of the Google Nexus 6.
