Google-HTC Nexus 9 release date in mid-October, according to a report.

Android Authority cited two different sources familiar with Google's plans who revealed that the tablet will be released alongside "a new software initiative," and will debut either on Oct. 15 or 16.

The Google Nexus 9 will be released with Nexus X. In addition, the sources also stated that Android L will be released later and will roll out on Nov. 1.

Phone Arena picked up a legal document from NVIDIA about the company suing Samsung and Qualcomm over a patent image. It says that tech giant Google will team up with Taiwanese mobile manufacturer HTC in making the upcoming Nexus 9. HTC is indeed the working on the alleged Google Nexus 9 tablet, as some sources revealed that engineers from HTC were seen flying to the Google headquarters in Mountain View in the recent months to probably work on the next Nexus tablet. Moreover, the device will also pack an NVIDIA Tegra K1 chipset, which is apt for gaming.

Reports added that HTC Nexus 9 will allegedly pack an 8.9-inch screen display with 2048 x 1440 pixel resolution and 221dpi, 2GB RAM, and HTC's famous front-facing speakers. Reports also stated that there will be a bump in the price of the tablet. The 16GB version of the Nexus 9 will cost $399, while the 32GB will be up for $499. The LTE version of the tablet can go up as much as $600. There were speculations that the alleged HTC-made Nexus 9 will replace Google's previous tablets – Nexus 7 and Nexus 10.

Moreover, the Google Nexus 9 will come with various case accessories, including a keyboard folio. The tech giant will fuse the features and capabilities of iPad's Smart Cover and Surface Pro's Type Cover keyboard. However, due to the smaller width, the keys were more cramped compared to a standard keyboard. However, it offers access to QWERTY keys as well as to Android function keys.
