Google hinted the imminent release date of a new device, most probably the HTC Nexus 8, as it offers last year's Nexus 7 in an amazing deal.

Unfortunately, it is not a considerate price cut since the tablet already has a friendly price tag. However, the search engine giant is throwing in a three-month free subscription to Google Play Music All Access when you purchase the 16GB Nexus 7 through the Play Store.

Google's All Access is similar to Apple's iTunes that is a premium music streaming subscription and gives users access to thousands of online songs. The tablet is still available through the Google Play Store for $299 and the promo runs until September 30.

This could be Google's way of promoting its music streaming feature by attracting more subscribers. Meanwhile, the subscription has a monthly fee of $9.99, which users can continue after the three-month trial period.

The LG-made Nexus 7 2013 will celebrate its first birthday at this year's I/O event which could be a platform to bring out its successor. The 7-inch tablet has become popular as it offers fair specs and features, an affordable price and fast Android updates.

Meanwhile, Android Police published a photo of the alleged next-gen Nexus tablet. The device is made by HTC and dubbed as "Volantis". The tablet packs a 8.9-inch screen with 2048 x 1440 pixel resolution and 221dpi, 2GB RAM, and HTC's famous front-facing speakers. It will also house NVIDIA's Tegra K1 processor. Surprisingly, the device has "NEXUS" inscribed at the back just like the previous models.

The report continued that the tablet will cost $399 for the 16GB version, $499 for the 32GB version, while the LTE version will have a price tag of $600. Folks from Android Police also speculated that the device will be released in the fourth quarter, which is different from initial predictions that the HTC Nexus 8 will appear at this year's Google I/O Conference kicking off tomorrow.
