The Google Daydream VR has been touted to be one of the main VR headsets that will compete with the Samsung Gear VR as they are both affordable but VR capable. The former is going to take advantage of the holiday season as Google announces that it is launching next week.

In the official Google blog page, the Daydream VR has been confirmed to release this coming Nov. 10 in the US. It will cost $79.99 at Best Buy and Verizon. The headset is also going to be made available in Canada, the UK, Germany, and Australia at varying prices, depending on retailers.

The full lineup of apps that the Daydream VR will support upon launch is even more impressive. The lineup includes "Star Chart VR," "Wall Street Journal VR," "The New York Times in VR," and VR-compatible "Google Street View." For those aiming to watch videos in Virtual Reality, they can avail of "YouTube VR" and "Hulu VR" apps.

There will be a few games available for the Daydream VR as well. Some of these include the sports title "Home Run Derby MLB" and the diorama puzzle game "Mekorama." "Wonderglade" is a mini-golf game and fans will also be able to download and play. "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them," a VR game based on the J.K. Rowling movie of the same name, is also supported.

A shooter title, "GunJack," is also going to be made available as well as the racing title "Need for Speed: No Limits." There is also the game "Hunter's Gate" in which players must protect their homeland from an invading demon army. While neither of the last two games was widely advertised, they are touted to be catered for hardcore gamers.

All of the aforementioned apps and games will be available on Nov. 10 along with the Google Daydream VR itself. A full list of future Google Daydream VR titles is yet to be released.
