'Girl Meets World' season 2 spoilers: Maya attempts to forgive her father in episode 23

 Disney Channel

Fans of "Girl Meets World" season 2 were recetly treated to a three-part series that focused on Riley (Rowan Blanchard), Maya (Sabrina Carpenter) and Lucas (Peyton Meyer), but the next episode, "Girl Meets the Forgiveness Project" won't be an immediate follow-up as it appears to be a standalone episode.

Season 2 episode 23, according to a report from Cartermatt, appears to have been produced before the "Girl Meets Texas" three-part series and will not directly reveal the aftermath of Maya and Lucas's new relationship that was recently established.

That doesn't mean it won't be an important episode. According to the synopsis, the episode will see Maya receive an assignment in school focused around the concept of forgiveness. As part of her home work she'll be writing a letter to her father, Kermit, as a means to forgive him for leaving her and her mother.

While the episode might not reveal additional information or a cameo of Maya's father, it will give fans an opportunity to explore the broken relationship Maya and her mother have with him throughout the episode.

The title also holds significance to Riley. While her story arc in this may not have the same impact as Maya's, it will still revolve around the concept of forgiveness. The synopsis reveals Auggie will break something very important to Riley and the latter will struggle to forgive him and move on from the incident.

Cartermatt points out that this will be an episode that will give Auggie more to do as the character has taken a back-burner throughout the season thus far, with most of the attention given to Riley and Maya. This is most noticeable during the "Girl Meets Texas" three-part series where Auggie was reduced to minor appearances.

"Girl Meets World" season 2 episode 23, "Girl Meets the Forgiveness Project" is scheduled to air this Nov. 6.
