'Frozen 2' to introduce love interest for Olaf?

Frozen - Olaf Disney

Ever since Disney announced that the 2013 hit "Frozen" was officially getting a sequel, there have been rumors left and right regarding the movie's potential plot. The latest rumor, as per Movie News Guide, is that "Frozen 2" may now introduce a new female snowman as a potential love interest for Olaf (Josh Gad).

The report points out that Queen Elsa (Idina Menzel) is not aware of Olaf's full story and that he is far more layered than just being a whacky source of humor for the films.

According to the report, Josh Gad also teased of Olaf's love interest and even pondered if the female snowman would be a quiet type of person with a hidden whacky side.

It is also stated that the new character is going to be named Eliana. Her back story is not yet detailed, and it is uncertain at this point how Eliana and Olaf ever got to meet. Fans of the first film will recall that Elsa was responsible for creating Olaf, basing him on the snowmen she and Anna (Kristen Bell) made when they were young.

Should "Frozen 2" indeed introduce a new snowman?

It is likely that she will be another creation of Elsa, perhaps as a means of giving Olaf an opportunity to interact with someone similar to him.

However, it is also pointed out that the information regarding Eliana does not come directly from Disney or any of the main cast of voice actors. Instead, the information is derived from the Mystery Case Files page and that this may merely be based on pieces of fan-fiction.

As it stands, there is no official announcement from Disney regarding a female snowman named Eliana. There are also other rumors regarding the plot of "Frozen 2" such as a stronger focus on LGBTQ themes, a villain wielding flame powers and a potential love interest for Queen Elsa.
