Free Bibles Handed Out to Hollywood

In an outreach initiative to encourage the prime of the U.S.’ film making industry to adopt higher standards of decency, more than 500 copies of the New Testament with Psalms and Proverbs were given out to some of Hollywood’s top leaders by the Broadman and Holman Publishers earlier in the month.

|TOP|The leading figures to receive a Bible included the CEOs of the six major Hollywood studios and six major TV networks when they were distributed at the 14th Annual MOVIEGUIDE Faith and Values Awards and Report to the Entertainment Industry held at the start of the month.

And those Hollywood leaders who were not able to attend the event did not miss out. MOVIEGUIDE made a special effort to deliver the Bibles to those leaders too, reports ASSIST news.

“This is a great way to get the Gospel of Jesus Christ and God's Word into the hands of those in the media who produce and promote the movies, DVDs and TV programmes that influence our children and grandchildren, and affect our culture," said Dr. Ted Baehr, publisher of MOVIEGUIDE and chairman of the Christian Film & Television Commission ministry, a non-profit making advocacy group.

"These Hollywood decision makers create the culture that not only affects our children and grandchildren but that also elects the politicians who appoint judges who interpret our laws and hire the teachers who instruct our children and grandchildren," Dr. Baehr added.
"Obviously, such influence also greatly affects pastors and Christian leaders trying to disciple families."

MOVIEGUIDE and the Christian Film and Television Commission ministry work to restore morals and biblical values to Hollywood, mass media and the entertainment industry.

They concentrate their work on encouraging entertainment industry leaders to adopt higher standards and equipping and informing the public, especially parents and people of faith, about what they can do to clean up these sectors.
