'The Fosters' season 3 spoilers: Tensions build around Callie's relationships in episode 8

The Fosters season 3 ABC Family

After a two-week hiatus, "The Fosters" is coming back with season 3 episode 8 titled "Daughters." According to the official synopsis, most of the episode will revolve around Callie (Maia Mitchell) as she confronts the numerous issues she has with the people in her life.

The previous episode ended on a cliffhanger with Callie's adoption now on the line after a report about a stolen vehicle and the issue with Brandon's (David Lambert) old restraining order come up. "Daughters" might be the episode that determines whether or not Callie gets to stay with the Fosters.

The official promo trailer for the episode shows Callie speaking with the restraining officer which might shed some light on her current situation. Brandon is also speaking with the officer and the synopsis states that he is going to confront his mother regarding the growing tensions in the house, tensions which include Callie.

Callie's fate with the Fosters is still not clear at this point. According to a report from Ecumenical News, there is a chance that she may be taken away from the Fosters and be forced to move in with a different family, giving baby Isabella her spot in the family.

She'll also be forced to confront Rita (Rosie O'Donnell). The two haven't had the strongest relationship lately but the official synopsis states that things will change when Rita's daughter comes to visit. Through this visit, Callie will see a "different side of Rita and learns the reason behind their strained relationship."

The title of the episode focuses on two daughters, Callie and Rita's daughter, but that doesn't mean Stef (Teri Polo) won't see improvements with her case. According to the synopsis, she'll get a new lead concerning the hit-and-run incident that put her kids and their biological mother in the hospital at the beginning of the season.

"The Fosters" season 3 episode 8 airs on Aug. 3.
