"Five Nights at Freddy's 4" (FNAF 4) is about to get scarier this Halloween as the game is getting an update. According to Steam, the game will get updated automatically to version 1.1 on Oct. 31.

The announcement posted by developer Scott Cawthon in August further explained that the game will have the update and not a downloadable content (DLC).

Fans of FNAF will expect more goodies and extra menus for players who have surpassed Night 6 once the update rolls out.

The extra menus will include a challenge menu, cheat menu, and a mini-game that offers player boosts during challenge modes.

Apart from the news on the game update, Cawthon also revealed that FNAF fans will also get a Halloween surprise.

Cawthon did emphasize that the content will not be a fifth installment of the game, since he already confirmed that there won't be a FNAF 5.

The new content will be a Halloween Edition, and according to Design & Trend, players will expect character changes. It was also reported that this game edition will be offered for free.

Meanwhile, it was already reported in September that Cawthon announced Steam's development of a new game related to the FNAF franchise.

The game will be titled "Five Nights at Freddy's World" and is also part of the FNAF game universe. It is not another game sequel but rather a spin-off, reports Crossmap.

Some people had hoped that a new "Five Nights" game will be announced — as with other FNAF games — based on a teaser image found on the Steam community page, but it was clarified by Cawthon that the image does not signify a new game but rather the Halloween update.

Just like the original game franchise, the upcoming FNAF World will be released in various game platforms, including Android, iOS, and personal computer (PC) sometime next year, according to the report.
