Far East Broadcasting Reaches Out to Touch the Hearts of Kids

The Far East Broadcasting Company is striving to reach out to youngsters by offering programs for children around the world. Kid’s programs have been produced by FEBC in Russia, Indonesia, Korea, Mongolia and the Philippines.

The traditions, habits and beliefs learned as a child are continued as they get older. The motive of the FEBC kid’s program is to commit young people to devote their lives to Christ so they can continue with their faith into their adulthood. The program is effecting people worldwide as many respond to the Lord’s calling.

In Russia, the program not only attracts children, but brings adults to have faith in Christ as well, according to ministry officials. After hearing the program with his young daughter, one father said, "I feel like a child, opening up a new world." A Russian prisoner reportedly committed his heart to Christ after listening.

In the Philippines, FEBC has been broadcasting for more than 40 years. The programs have come to mean so much to many children – and parents often contact the stations to let them know this. "My kids are excited when they hear your program; they sing along with your program jingle and they love all the songs you play," said one parent.

FEBC-Korea’s children’s programs are so popular and mothers are writing to share the good news. One young girl asked her mother to record the program while she was away. Another grateful mother wrote to testify that her husband who is a non-believer, has started listening to FEBC after their daughter sang in a musical program on an FEBC program.

In Indonesia, the Dreaming Home for Children program for children aged 6-13 features every week and depicts a Biblical morality concept. After it is broadcasted, a discussion is opened where children call and share their thoughts with the host.

In Mongolia, a program called ‘Talkback’ allows teenagers to discuss with their peers. At times, there is a Q&A session with a trivia session to win a prize donated by a local sponsor. "It's so interesting that even adults like to listen," said an FEBC-Mongolia staff member. "And that's good because most of our listeners are non-Christian."
