'The Elder Scrolls 6' may not be featured at E3 2015, focus on 'Tamriel Unlimited' instead

The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited Bethesda and ZeniMax

Fans of Bethesda rejoiced when the game company announced that they are going to make their first Electronic Entertainment Expo appearance this year, mostly because it would signify they will showcase some big surprises for gamers. Fans have speculated that "Fallout 4" and "The Elder Scrolls 6" would be unveiled but it appears that the latter is no longer going to happen.

According to a report from the Latin Post, Bethesda is trying to push the public's attention toward "The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited," especially now that the game is launching on next-gen consoles, the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

This means that any official announcement regarding "The Elder Scrolls 6" may not occur during this year's E3 trade show. The report even points out that fans may have to wait until 2016 for any official word regarding the next official entry in the franchise because the company is solely focusing on their MMO-RPG at the moment.

If such is the case, then gamers shouldn't be too surprised.  It wouldn't be the first time that a game studio has decided to delay any work on their main franchise in order to expend all efforts on their online entry. Blizzard hasn't released any news about another "Warcraft" RTS game ever since they launched "World of Warcraft" way back in 2004. The last entry was "Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne" and that was in 2003.

"The Elder Scrolls 6" was reportedly going under the name "Argonia," hinting that the game will take place in the Black Marsh, home of the reptile-like Argonian race, and would be a follow-up to "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim." If the game doesn't appear at the E3 2015 event, then the rumored title might be dropped and the game's release, according to speculations, could be pushed to late 2017.
