E3 2014 live stream: What games to expect from Microsoft, EA, Sony and Ubisoft

The much awaited event for gamers kicked off yesterday and the first day featured a lot of new titles.

Microsoft, EA, Ubisoft and Sony took the first day of the Electronic Entertainment Expo or the E3 2014 event by storm by featuring a wide array of games. The companies started the ball rolling; however, more exciting games are set to enter the arena as the event will officially commence today.

Microsoft held its annual Xbox conference where it announced that it will re-issue all of its past major Halo titles in one set. The set will be coming in November. It also teased gamers of the new Tomb Raider" series, which will focus on the early days of the protagonist Lara Croft.

What to Expect

1. New Games - After the game consoles, such as Wii U, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, made a big splash in last year's E3 event; new games and titles will take center stage. Since tech companies release consoles once in a decade, we can see a paradigm shift with the focus on games this year forward.

Some of the most anticipated titles to be launched in this year's event are: Halo 5: Guardians, Battlefield: Hardline, Assassin's Creed, Batman Arkham Knight, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, FIFA 15, and Ultra Street Fighter 4.

2. Virtual Reality Technology – Game companies are constantly working on to make virtual reality technolohies affordable to gamers. Facebook's Oculus Rift and Sony's Project Morpheus are quite advanced and the closest to optimum virtual reality gamers can get.

3. Gaming apps for mobile devices – The gaming world is a fast-changing industry and "casual" gaming is becoming more popular. This refers to games played through the mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets. Surprisingly, there are a number of games in this platform that are performing well such as Angry Birds, Candy Crush. Thus, game developers are exploring further this platform.
