'Dying Light' DLC release date: 'The Following' update

Dying Light Youtube/TechLand

Ever since the official rollout of "Dying Light" on PS4, Xbox One and PC, developer TechLand has notified their fans that they will release a new DLC titled "The Following." Up to this point, however, there is still no official release date. TechLand community manager Michal Napora has taken to YouTube to give fans an update regarding the DLC's release.

According to Napora, no specific release date can be announced at the moment but fans should expect TechLand and publisher Warner Bros. Entertainment to announce more information soon. How soon, however, is anyone's guess.

Napora continued to explain that they are still negotiating a release date that would suit both companies. This could mean that Warner Bros. is reluctant to release "The Following" simultaneously with their other properties and is looking for a release window where it won't conflict with other WB-published games.

He also explained that a reason for the delay is that the developers at TechLand want to release an expansion that meets their standards and that the content is something they can be happy with. More development time will ensure fewer bugs and glitches and the implementation of better, more polished game mechanics.

According to a report from VG24/7, it is possible that the release date for the DLC expansion will be finalized and announced at the Paris Game Week, which opens Oct. 27.

"Dying Light: The Following" will introduce an entirely new campaign, new vehicles, and a brand new area for gamers to explore in. This new area will be just as large and expansive as the world currently existing in the main "Dying Light" campaign.
