"Duck Dynasty" castmember Mountain Man opened up in a recent interview about his faith, new book, and how he manages his newfound fame.

Mountain Man, whose real name is Tim Guraedy, is a friend of the series' stars, the Robertson family. Although he has thousands of fans, Guraedy keeps his faith first.

"The role of faith is something that you always have to keep first out in front. It's like the engine on a train," he told The Blaze. "You have to keep your faith first. Through my faith I remain strong and I'm ready to keep that train going.

"I would just say, 'Hey the Lord works in mysterious ways,'" he continued. "He's always had a plan for me and this is it."

Guraedy also explained how he got his nIckname. "It came from an old buddy of mine when I moved from Tennessee to Louisiana," he explained, describing the hills and mountains in Tennessee. "I was brought up in Tennessee and moved to Louisiana," he said.

Guraedy revealed that he has known patriarch Phil Robertson for a while, but got closer to the family after doing air conditioning work for Phil's son, Willie.

"When I got [done with one of the jobs], he asked me to be in a film shoot and I had no idea it was going to be A&E and all the people and producers and stuff [that came] with it," he explained.

He details his life and experience in his book, "Keepin' a Slow Profile." Guraedy also talks at length about one of his favourite proteins, squirrel.

"It tastes a little bit like chicken - a cross between a chicken and a rabbit," he intimated. Grady said he throws the squirrel into gumbo, or adds gravy and rice. "You have to cook them slow, because they are a little tough."
