'Driveclub' PS4: Server update improves game's online performance

How will the game be saved? Facebook

"Driveclub" had nothing more than a disastrous launch. A supposed state-of-the-art game of pristine driving experience and excellent gameplay merely suffered a major fender-bender. The game's oath to drive together was only made to fumble after players' constant attempt failures to connect to the game servers. The issue had players shut out of the game, unable to access the content.

"It's about teamwork; it's about everyone fighting for one another and earning rewards together – and most importantly it's about sharing in the sheer thrill of every race." This was how "Driveclub" was described by PlayStation.

In a nutshell, it's entirely reliant on online servers in allowing players to form clubs and alliances vital to the game, and this is where the game botched majorly upon its launch.

Now Evolution Studios, with all its might, is trying to redeem itself with a major overhaul process. On Oct. 25, the developer informed players through Facebook of the restoration the team is currently focusing on hub.

"There are more servers coming online and there will be a significant server update to improve performance. We will also be running performance diagnostics around this update, but there shouldn't be much disruption or downtime," Evolution Studios posted.

"This server update will improve online performance across the game and it also brings specific improvements for multiplayer racing and leaderboard updates," it further stated.

The efforts continue on and the developers promise to keep everyone posted of the revamp progress.

"As always we appreciate your feedback about online play as it improves and about your time with the game in general, so please keep sharing with us," it said.

A free version of "Driveclub" for PlayStation Plus members was also announced prior to the launching of the game, projected to be released in conjunction with the full game. Plus members can enjoy sample cars, tracks and one location with the offering. However, Evolution Studios has no word about it still, as they have no "concrete info" at the moment.
