'Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2' news: Story rumored to take its hook from 'Dragon Ball Super'

As previously reported, there are possibilities that a sequel to "Dragon Ball Xenoverse" may be in development given that Sean Schemmel, the voice of Son Goku, has been alerted about it. Since the unofficial announcement, fans have been theorizing on what the game's story may be and many point to "Dragon Ball Super."

"Dragon Ball Super" is the new anime series which takes place after "Dragon Ball Z" and officially writes "Dragon Ball GT" out of the official canon of the series. It follows Son Goku and Vegeta as they further develop their powers and transform into Super Saiyan Blue aka Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan using this power in a tournament between universes and in a fight against a resurrected Freeza.

The story of "Dragon Ball Xenoverse" focused primarily on time travel and an alternate timeline, introducing a brand-new series of events and a villain named Mira. It also brought back the Time Patrol version of Trunks, who has returned from the future to aid the player-generated character in fighting this new threat.

The likelihood of "Xenoverse 2" using a story based on "Dragon Ball Super" increases as Schemmel did state during the Optimus Bristol Comic Convention that they were working on the English dub for the anime series, guaranteeing that the North American audience will be familiar with the story by the time the next game launches.

"I think Dragon Ball Super should happen this year," Schemmel stated. "We don't have a contract yet but Chris [Sabat] called me the other day and said I think this might be happening soon. Funimation has been working hard since late last year to go to Japan and secure."

Schemmel also explained that just because FUNimation already has the rights for "Dragon Ball Z" they do not immediately have the rights for "Dragon Ball Super," and that future negotiations with the legal teams will determine the future of the English dub releasing in the US. This may effect "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" if the game uses the anime's story.

It is also possible that both the English dub of the anime and "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" will launch simultaneously to boost sales and viewership alike.

If you look at the Church of England’s communications all that it ever seems to highlight is the good works that Christians do to improve the temporal well-being of their neighbours. It is right to highlight these things, but they are not the primary reason for the Church’s existence.
