'Destiny' update: Players receive mystery gift from Bungie

Game developer Bungie wants to thank "Destiny" gamers, and to express its gratitude, it is giving away mysterious "legendary" gifts to its players.

Days ago, gamers were advised via Twitter that they will receive a "token of gratitude" later this week. Then, on Jan. 7, the developer of the highly popular video game took to social media once again to announce that the gift is now available.

"Packages are being deployed by the millions throughout the day. Check your emails and the Postmaster for confirmation," reads the tweet from Bungie.

Clearly from the tweet, players should pay a visit to the Postmaster to look for the message from an unknown benefactor. According to reports, the gift can be either a primary, secondary or heavy weapon. The item is randomly selected, which means that players receive different weapons.

Players should be reminded that Bungie is giving away one "legendary" gift per account. Thus, if an account has multiple guardians, players are cautioned to carefully select which character will receive the weapon.

Aside from the "legendary" gift, Bungie also rolled out the latest patch update for the game last month. The patch brings fixes and solutions to the bugs found in the game as well as issues related to "The Dark Below" DLC. Moreover, the game developer confirmed that it is working on more fixes in order to resolve the remaining bugs thriving in the game.

Meanwhile, "The Dark Below" DLC has brought some changes to the game experience of players as the expansion pack delivers new content with new and more powerful weapons and items for players. Reports say that gamers can upgrade their exotic weapons to unleash a more powerful weapon. Moreover, the DLC comes with three new multiplayer maps – Pantheon, Skyshock, and The Cauldron.

"Destiny" will have two DLCs. "The Dark Below" is the first expansion pack currently available, while the "House of Wolves" will be available early next year with no exact release date yet. The DLCs will be available for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4.
