'Destiny: The Taken King' 2.0.0.4 hotfix fixes Three of Coins Exotic Engram exploit

Bungie has officially launched the new 2.0.0.4 hotfix, which will address several game-ruining issues with their latest DLC expansion, "The Taken King." One of the issues addressed is the exploit many gamers have used regarding the Three of Coins consumable.

Gamers were able to consume the item and then pop into the Scourge of Winter mission to rapidly kill as many Ultras as they could. Doing so would net them numerous Exotic Engrams. This exploit has now been addressed and the chances of receiving an Exotic Engram after consuming "Three of Coins" has been lowered signficantly.

The hotfix also addresses a general concern where Golden Chest node completions - part of the Year 1 Moments of Triumph" - were disappearing after the release of "The Taken King" DLC.

Gamers who reached player level 40 before they turned in their Reach Level 30 quest objective sometimes did not properly receive their level 40 quest. This has now been fixed. A glitch where the High Value Targets quest did not reward Legendary Marks at completion has also been addressed.

A fix has already been given for the Year 1 Marks issue where Rare and Uncommon gear were not properly dropping as intended. Treasure chests within the Dreadnaught area have been relocated so that they can only be looted once per spawn, disabling players from continuously farming them.

Another exploit addressed is one where players used to be able to dismantle Exotics in order to receive 2 Exotic shards. The hotfix now reduces the chances of this happening.

Bungie explains that these exploits and bugs have been addressed to level the playing field as many gamers are taking advantage of these exploits to gain over-powered gear originally meant to be difficult and rare to acquire. By exploiting the game, there are some gamers who have an unfair advantage over others. The new hotfix addresses these balancing issues within the game.
