Bungie has confirmed that the Iron Banner Crucible event for "Destiny 2" will begin its run from Oct. 9 to 17.

Iron Banner was also a Crucible event in the first "Destiny" game. It will be making its debut in the sequel game where players can get awesome looking armor and gear for Titans, Hunters, and Warlocks. Like other Crucible, it is going to use the Control Game Mode. Teams will house four players each.

Players need to clear the Lord Saladin campaign first to gain access to Iron Banner. After clearing the campaign, players must talk to Lord Saladin to unlock the Iron Banner quest and the Iron Banner playlist. Once unlocked, the Quickplay mode will be available as well as matchmaking. Players can also do solo missions if they choose or join a Fireteam.

Unlike the Crucible event that it was in the first game, Iron Banner in "Destiny 2" will be all about a player's skill and fighting abilities. A Guardian's power level will not be an integral factor to determine the outcome match. A player's level with be the key reason to get a victory screen.

After every match, every player will get Iron Banner tokens regardless if they get a victory or defeat screen. However, players can get more tokens if the match is won. These tokens can be redeemed for Banner Engrams.

In comparison from the first game's Iron Banner Armor that sports a black, white and gold ensemble, in "Destiny 2," Iron Banner armors will get an oriental reworking and will go for a gold, green, and black motif. Whereas the first version looked more futuristic-military, the new version looks more like Asian warriors with articulated faulds and tassets.

Since Oct. 10 is the game's weekly reset, the Prestige version of the Leviathan raid will be released on this day as well.
