"Destiny 2's" first expansion, "The Curse of Osiris," went live last week, but the community surrounding the game went in an uproar following Bungie's latest changes to the game. After listening to customer feedback, Bungie admitted they did make some mistakes, and they have now fixed the issues surrounding the game in the latest patch.
Some of the players were especially outraged when they were locked out of some of the high-level content that would enable them to get the highest class loot in "Destiny 2." Some of these activities are The Trials of the Nine, the Prestige versions of the Leviathan raid, the Iron Banner in the player-versus-player Crucible, the weekly Nightfall strike on the player-versus-environment side, and the Prestige versions of the Leviathan raid.
"Our team overlooked the fact that both of these mistakes disabled Trophies and Achievements for Destiny 2," explained Bungie in a blog post. "This was an unacceptable lapse on our part, and we can understand the frustration it has created."
During the Dec. 12 maintenance, Bungie immediately amended the issues surrounding the content lockout. However, they didn't agree to all terms suggested by the players. Bungie explained the reasons behind the decisions they made, as they said, "We wanted a better solution for Destiny 2, where all of our Endgame activities could stay relevant as each Expansion causes your Guardian to grow more and more powerful."
Some of the changes made include making the Prestige Leviathan Raid accessible to all players once more by bringing the requirement down to Power 300. In addition, the Trials of The Nine, Normal Nightfall, and time-limited events such as Iron Banner, Faction Rally, and The Dawning are also accessible to all except when they require a Curse of Osiris map.
Prestige Nightfall, however, will stay locked to Curse of Osiris owners. As Bungie stated, it's a pinnacle activity, but they are also currently looking for an opportunity to introduce a new difficulty tier so that they could provide a relevant challenge with every Expansion that they release.
