Dearnley church installs solar panels in Namibia

Members of St Andrew's church in Dearnley visited Omboloka in Namibia to oversee the installation of new solar panels.

The church raised money to fund the solar panels for the remote community in the northern region of the country.

It is the first time the community has had electrical power.

Also involved in the installation of the solar units was the principal of the local school, Lazerus Shapwa. He said they were evidence for the children and teachers that God had not forgotten them.

The electricity generated by the units will power computers with internet access that will help the children as they study for their exams.

The members of St Andrew's also brought baseball hats donated by St Andrew's Primary School and football strips donated by Wardle High School for the children.
