Day of Prayer for Our Land to be Held in Northern Ireland

A special Day of Prayer for Our Land is to be held in Belfast, Northern Ireland at the end of the month as the country looks forward to a future of reconciliation.

The event will be held at St Anne’s Cathedral, Belfast, on 28th January 2006 and will be attended by numerous speakers from the church including Bishop Donal McKeown, Bishop Alan Harper and Michael McGoldrick.

The speakers will address the theme of the day of prayer, ‘What does our country need at this time?’, which was suggested by Rev. Jim Rea who recently said that what Northern Ireland needs is far more than what any political solution can offer.

“Thankfully we no longer have the level of violence that existed before the ceasefires, but there is still a very deep division in this land,” said Brother David Jardine, director of Interdenominational Divine Healing Ministries, and organiser of the Day of Prayer for Our Land.|TOP|

“I believe that only God can help us to reach out hands to those who are different, to forgive and say sorry, to bring healing to those who are hurt,” he said.

“Only God can help us to move away from an attitude of complaining to giving thanks for all the blessings we enjoy in this country. Only God can help us to put the past behind and make a new beginning.

“That is why this day of prayer is so important. It gives everybody the opportunity to make a contribution,” said Brother Jardine.
