'Daredevil' season 2 spoiler: Set photo showcases blooming romance for Matt Murdock

Daredevil starring Charlie Cox Netflix

A set photo of "Daredevil" season 2, courtesy of Twitter user @rx, shows the titular hero Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) walking hand in hand with Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll) at night. The two did share some intimate moments in season 1, but this is the first visual confirmation that a romance will blossom between them in season 2.

The set photo is just one glance at the couple's relationship and they may not really get together in the second season, although given how well their relationship had blossomed in the comic books, it is very likely that the television series will follow suit.

As pointed out in a report from ComicBookMovie, season 1 focused more on the romantic relationship between Wilson Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio) and Vanessa (Ayelet Zurer) while keeping Matt and Karen as friends. However, the set photos indicate that season 2 will have some room to let the latter couple develop into something more intimate.

[Spoiler Warning] Their relationship may hit a few bumps, however, as season 2 will see the introduction of Elodie Yung as the deadly assassin Elektra. Elektra is also one of Daredevil's love interests in the comics and the only similarity she has with Karen is that they both meet their end in the hands of the hired killer Bullseye.

Karen Page is the longest running love interest for Matt Murdock in the comic book source materials and even serves as his side-kick on several occasions. It is unlikely that she will be killed off in season 2, particularly because their relationship is still growing and because Netflix and Marvel Studios have not yet cast an actor to play Bullseye.

"Daredevil" season 2 is currently in production and will also see the return of Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple, Elden Henson as Foggy, and the introduction of Jon Bernthal as the violent anti-hero Frank Castla aka the Punisher. It is currently scheduled to premiere in 2016.
