'Daredevil' season 2 premiere spoilers: Daredevil to create the Punisher and Elektra

Daredevil starring Charlie Cox Netflix

"Daredevil" season 2 will introduce Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle aka the Punisher and Elodie Yung as Elektra Natchios. Both spawn from Marvel comics and both share the same penchant for violence as Daredevil (Charlie Cox), but according to What Culture, both of them might have also been born from his activities.

In the comic books, Elektra is a female assassin who is hired by several mob bosses until she makes her way to Hell's Kitchen. As a regular civilian she falls in love with Matt Murdock aka Daredevil but when they both don their masks they end up fighting each other.

According to the report, Elektra may have already been teased in the first season and now in season 2 she will be returning to Hell's Kitchen as a full-fledged assassin hired by the criminal organization known as the Hand in order to wipe out the vigilante that took down Wilson Fisk aka the Kingpin (Vincent D'Onofrio).

The teaser trailer shown during the New York Comic-Con also showcases both the Punisher and Daredevil looking down at a grave. What Culture points out that Daredevil's crime-fighting activities may have led to negative results, such as Castle's family being killed, forcing him to take up arms as the violent vigilante known as the Punisher.

A quick scene in the trailer also showcases Punisher walking in what appears to be a hospital where he brings out a gun. It is speculated by fans that this may be a scene where the Punisher interrogates a police officer or other victims in order to find the Daredevil.

If these rumors are true then both Elektra and Punisher will both have direct ties to Daredevil and both will want him dead. However, given that in the comic books both eventually turn over to his side, it is likely the trio will join forces to take down the real threat in Hell's Kitchen: the Hand, Wilson Fisk, and other villains such as Bullseye.

"Daredevil" season 2 premieres in 2016.
