'Dance Moms' season 7 rumors: Series facing cancellation?

 Lifetime

"Dance Moms" season 7 has just premiered, and while it showcases Abby Lee Miller trying to move on without Maddie Ziegler, the most famous star dancer of the series, it is also revealed that the troubled coach is having a hard time and this has led many to believe that the series could be cancelled soon.

According to the recap of the premiere episode, courtesy of Celeb Dirty Laundry, Miller starts the premiere episode by stating she is not going to overlook her other dancers now that Maddie Ziegler is no longer present. She also states that the dancers will need to do better because they can no longer hide behind Maddie.

However, the episode still sees a lot of drama and several of the girls auditioning for the open slots in the team end up crying. This goes on until the end of the episode when Jill Vertes storms out of the studios stating that girls and their mothers should only come to the studio if they want to learn how to cry and not dance.

Vine Report reveals that that this level of trouble and drama may be the downfall of the series. It is noted that dancers like Chloe Lukasiak and Maddie Ziegler departed due to how Miller had been treating them and with the departure of key dancers the quality of the show and the team's performance has notably decreased.

This would mean each season would see a significant drop in viewers despite the high level of drama involved between Miller and her dancers.

The report also points out that Miller intentionally aimed to get the show out early because her current legal cases may spell the end of the show. Miller is facing multiple charges of fraud and tax evasion and she pleaded guilty to hiding over $775,000 of profits.

Miller's sentencing had been scheduled for October but this had been moved to December. This may allow season 7 to finish without legal concerns abruptly ending the show but it may mean season 8 is getting cancelled.
