"Crackdown 3" finally has a release date and fans should be happy to know that the third-person shooter game will arrive in the summer.

The announcement was posted on Xbox Wire on Monday as a yearly update on Xbox games. It also included a list of 2016 games and their respective release dates. There is no exact date for "Crackdown 3" but it was only indicated that the game will arrive in summer. More importantly, only the Multiplayer Mode will be released by then.

Joe Skrebels of GamesRadar initially predicted that "Crackdown 3" will be released in two forms. He noted that the single player mode of the game follows the original story of "Crackdown" but the Multiplayer Mode offers something different—a cloud-based game that allows players to access a separate city.

As stated in "Crackdown's" website, the multiplayer game mode offers an environment where destruction is the "ultimate weapon."

Microsoft didn't provide a reason for releasing the multiplayer mode ahead of the single player game mode, but GamesRadar's report mentioned that the cloud solutions could play a part.

The game mode is said to rely more on Microsoft Azure cloud servers. It will also offer more game interactions but less focus on a game story. In addition, single player games require more manpower to complete tasks such as game writing and designing non-playable characters compared to the multiplayer mode.

So far, no details about the single player mode have been given out. Microsoft and game developer Cloudgine have yet to issue an announcement regarding the single player game.

However, a game fan took to Twitter to ask Xbox head, Phil Spencer, about the upcoming game release.

Spencer responded that more information about "Crackdown 3" multiplayer mode is coming. The decision to release the multiplayer mode is considered by Spencer as a "big step."

Watch out for more updates on "Crackdown 3."
