Conference to Equip Mothers with Children Caught in Violence & Drugs

Women will find out how to cope when their children get involved in gun, knife or drug-related crime - whether as a perpetrator or victim, at an international conference organised by a ministry aimed at helping churches establish women's ministries.

The day-long conference entitled 'Women at War - Retreat Is not an Option', which has been organised by 4Women2Women, will be held at the New Testament Assembly in Tooting, London, on 26 May.

The conference will equip women to know what to do even in extreme circumstances related to gun and drug crime, and will delve into tragic situations such as what a mother should do if her child is sentenced.

Pastor Miller, co-pastor of Sozo Ministries in Grove Park, south London, stated, "Many women currently live in fear of their children getting caught up in the gun, knife and gang culture that currently prevails within some of our urban cities.

"It is important churches provide women with strategies which enable them to understand and deal with this issue should it arise within their family that's why 4Women2Women is addressing this issue at its first international conference."

A major aim of the 4Women2Women conference is to help women understand that they are in a battle, and show them how to combat the various spiritual, social and personal challenges they encounter in their day to day lives.

She continued, "It's not just mothers who have major issues to contend with. 21st century Christian women in general face many challenges, whether it's in their homes, relationships, at their workplace, their churches or within the wider society.

"These challenges can sometimes be overwhelming if we don't tap into our spiritual resources and utilise the spiritual tools God has given us to. This conference will help women to identify the nature of their challenges and teach them how to combat them."

Speakers at this year's conference include Prophetess Jackie Hareward, founder of When Women Pray and Rev Lurline Miller.
