Christian football star Russell Wilson has been a good influence to his girlfriend and singer Ciara. Despite the loss his team the Seattle Seahawks suffered against the Carolina Panthers during the NFC Divisional playoff game, Wilson still managed to inspire Ciara because of his faith in God.

On her personal Instagram account (@ciara), the singer shared a photo of Wilson in uniform with his right index finger pointed towards the sky.

"My love, I am so proud of you. What a phenomenal season it's been. You never cease to amaze me with your faith, will, integrity, resilience, and courage. You always find a way to make things happen when it seems absolutely impossible! Constantly inspiring me and others around. A rare breed you are. My champ. The best is yet to come. I love you," she wrote.

Wilson later reciprocated the outpouring of love Ciara gave him by tweeting, "Sweetest thing I've ever known. I'm so grateful for the loving, sweet, standup woman you are."

Wilson and Ciara's relationship earlier made the news when the two expressed their desire to remain celibate before marriage. It was actually Wilson who came up with the idea and asked his girlfriend, "What would you do if we took all that other stuff off the table and did it Jesus' way, no sex?"

Fortunately, Ciara was all for it and she even respected Wilson more because he was being honest with his Christian faith. Wilson told Pastor Miles McPherson of Rock Church that he believes he was sent to Ciara's life for a reason.

"I knew God had brought me into her life to bless her and for her to bless me, and to bless so many people with the impact that she has and I have," he said. "We're not going to be perfect, by any means. But He's anointed both of us and He's calling for us to do something special."
