Church of Ireland to Strengthen Children's Leaders

Raising children in daily life is exhausting enough but raising them spiritually in the Word is a whole different kind of exhaustion. That’s why the Church of Ireland is looking to strengthen and encourage its children’s workers in a forthcoming national conference.

|TOP|The conference presents the ideal opportunity to recharge batteries for those who work in children’s ministry or are planning on taking on this kind of work in the local parish, as a Sunday school teacher or a Children’s Club leader.

Following the great success of the National Children’s Ministry Conference for the last three years, another conference is being planned by a group of representatives from the main Christian churches in Belfast and Dublin.

The Church of Ireland is represented by Rev. Ian Ellis in Belfast and Heather Wilkinson, Helen Groves and Rev. Anne Taylor in Dublin.

The ‘Building Blocks’ Children’s Ministry Conference will again be held in two venues.

The Northern conference will be held at the University of Ulster, Jordanstown, on Saturday 18th November and the southern event will take place at St. Patrick’s College, Drumcondra, Dublin, on Saturday 25th November.

Marlene LeFever, director of the Colorado-based Educational Ministries for Cook Communications, will be keynote speaker at the event. Marlene has a wide experience in children’s ministry and is involved in consultations and training of children’s workers across the globe.

Children’s ministry workers will also be able to find inspiration and ideas at a wide variety of seminars on topics such as leading an under 5s ministry, school assemblies, helping children with special needs, children and worship, arts and crafts, help for first time leaders, using games to teach the Bible, and more.
