A different Spider-Man will be introduced in "Captain America: Civil War," film directors Joe and Anthony Russo revealed.

In a recent interview with Comic Book, the Russo brothers shared that Tom Holland's portrayal of the Spider-Man will be different from the versions previously portrayed by Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield.

According to Joe Russo, they chose to incorporate a very personal approach with the newest version of Spider-Man for the third installment of the "Captain America" franchise.

"We had thought back to the things that excited us about him as a character when we were younger, and one of the most important components of that was that he's a high schooler burdened with incredible powers and responsibility," Joe Russo explained. "That really differentiates him from every other character in the Marvel universe as opposed to other superheroes. For us, it was extremely important that we cast somebody very close to the age of a high-school student."

Anthony Russo, on the other hand, shared that they also made sure that Holland's version of Spider-Man will fit the theme of the "Captain America" trilogy.

"It's a very specific tonal world. It's a little more grounded and a little more hard-core contemporary. That was also coloring our choices a lot about the character on Spider-Man," the younger Russo said.

The Russo brothers also talked about the changes for General Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross (William Hurt) in the third installment of the "Captain America" movie franchise. The filmmakers revealed in an interview with Comic Book Movie that Ross has become a lot smarter since he was last seen in "The Incredible Hulk" back in 2008.

"He's cornering the Avengers [because] superheroes have always been a [problem] to him; he's not a fan of them. So now he's come at them strategically by aligning the world against them," Joe said in the interview.

"Captain America: Civil War," starring Chris Evans as Steve Roger/Captain America, will premiere on May 6, 2016.
