Bobby Schmurda had his hands full last month when he got arrested by the New York Police Department. Last Dec. 16, the 20-year-old rapper was taken into police custody due to his connection with gang violence and drug trafficking. Acquille Pollard, his real name, was apprehended at his recording studio where the NYPD also found three guns, reported The Daily Beast.

Since then, the "Hot N---a" rapper has been waiting for his trial on Rikers Island. He had to spend Christmas in jail and was not allowed any visitors. Even his lawyer could not get to him during Christmas Eve. His bail was set at $2 million and, seeing that he is still in jail, no one has made the payment yet.

There are very serious charges lined up against Schmurda. According to Hip Hop DX, his charges include: "conspiracy to commit murder, assault in the first degree, possession of weapons, intent to sell and possession of narcotics and criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree on two counts."

How serious are these charges? If he is convicted for the conspiracy charges, he faces 25 years prison time . As for the weapons charges, it's 15 years.

His previous arrests on the same year will not help his case either. In June 2014, he was taken into custody for firearms possession. According to Time, he was again busted in October, but for marijuana possession. Schmurda was arrested with other members of the GS9, a Brooklyn gang.

There is still no word as to when ther rapper will be tried or when the next court date will be. But since the holidays are over, it could happen very soon.
