'Better Call Saul' season 2 spoilers, characters news: Cameos from 'Breaking Bad'

Jonathan Banks as Mike Ehermantraut AMC

"Better Call Saul" season 2 will not see actor Bryan Cranston coming back as Walter White, even in a cameo role, although the showrunners are adamant on bringing him in at some point in the future. However, a new report indicates that season 2 will at least have some other "Breaking Bad" faces popping up.

In an interview with Zap2It, actor Jonathan Banks stated that the second season will have a few good "treats" for the fans of both "Better Call Saul" and "Breaking Bad." The actor continued to explain that some familiar faces will pop up, although Walter White and Jesse Pinkman will not be among them.

"You're going to see a few characters pop up for sure. I honestly don't know how many, but I know you're going to get another one soon," Banks told the media outlet. "Some of them are just off-the-wall characters, where you go, 'Oh God! I remember him!'"

Since this series serves as a prequel, fans have speculated that some of the criminals that Walter White had to deal with during his drug rain in "Breaking Bad" will pop up here and there as they consult Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk) as their go-to lawyer, essentially building his reputation and his name as Saul Goodman.

It is possible that these encounters will help shape Jimmy into the Saul Goodman that fans are familiar with in "Breaking Bad."

Jonathan Banks was recently nominated for the Emmy award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series, making it his third time to get nominated and for three different shows. He was previously nominated for his role in "Wiseguys" and then as Mike Ehermantraut for both "Breaking Bad" and now "Better Call Saul."

"Better Call Saul" season 2 is set to premiere in 2016.
