Benham brothers: Sexual anarchy is a 'stronghold' in America

The Benham brothers have made a strong stand for their Christian values in the past few weeks but they remain upbeat and uncompromising after being dropped from a reality show by HGTV.

In their latest blog post, David and Jason write of their concerns about the strongholds that have become entrenched in the US.

Their take on the last century is that what started out as small compromises has resulted in huge and damaging changes to American society.

"Satan comes to rob, kill, & destroy (John 10:10), so he generally starts his path to destruction with a simple toehold," they write.

"All he wants to do is simply get a seat at the table...to start. Back in the 1960′s our nation allowed a toehold of sexual perversion – during the hippie sexual revolution – which has now become a stronghold of sexual anarchy in America.

"This stronghold masks itself in the form of diversity, inclusion, & tolerance."

It's not only the face of relationships and sexuality that has dramatically changed in America in the last decades, but what is allowed to be taught in schools, and the brothers express frustration that evolution has been embraced at the expense of exploring the Creator.

They go on to warn that in addition to education, Satan has a stronghold in the entertainment industry, the marketplace, government and even in the church.

Instead of being able to talk freely about beliefs and values, they say these spheres are characterised by the reality of "silence or death (to your job/reputation)".

And while they are positive about there still being room for public debate around key issues in government, they warn that the US is heading towards a situation where "silence is demanded from the dissenters, lest they 'lose their heads'".

But the brothers are more concerned about Satan getting a foothold in the church and round-off their blog with a call to the church in America to repent.

"What's crazy is that Satan has taken a toehold in the Church," they said.

"This is the last straw in the destruction of a nation. If this toehold of Satan becomes a stronghold there will be no hope for America."

David and Jason are the owners of Benham Real Estate and had been lined up to do a reality TV show with HGTV when the network cancelled it after protests over the brothers' conservative beliefs.

That was quickly followed up by a second blow for the brothers when SunTrust Bank decided to drop all their properties. But the bank made a surprising U-turn days later after being confronted by a backlash from conservatives.

In a separate post earlier this month, the brothers shared their remarkably positive take on the whole debacle.

"When the tables have turned in life, we need to realise that God owns the tables," they said. "He always has a plan and it's far greater than any plan we could ever come up with. It may be hard and painful to understand at the time, but God's ways are always best."
