'Battlefield Hardline: Betrayal' DLC update release date arrives for premium members, everyone else to get later

"Battlefield Hardline: Betrayal" is the final DLC pack for the game before developer EA DICE officially moves forward with their work on "Battlefield 5." According to a report from PlayStation Lifestyle, the DLC has already been launched for premium members but the rest of the players will have to wait until the middle of the month.

Premium membership, which grants players 12 Gold Battlepacks and other perks like double experience points, also entitles players to a two-week headstart whenever new DLC expansions are announced, hence the early access privilege for the "Betrayal" DLC.

For players who do not have premium membership they will be able to get their hands on the DLC and its contents by March 15.

Because the DLC has been made available for a select group of players, the developers have also launched a new update patch that is required in order for the base game to support the DLC's content. This new update grants new items while also addressing several of the bugs and glitches in the main game.

Some of the new weapons include the Inquisition Sword, a Karambit, an M4, a Cleaver, a Shovel and a weapon known as the Devil's Tooth Pick. Some new features include a new server labeled "Pistols Only" and a change that gives the Gold Battlepack a rare chance to unlock the Weapon License Voucher.

Some of the improvements from the update include better hit detection, removing damage modifiers on gas grenades and lowering the base accuracy for the Uzi.

For both premium and non-premium members the free update is required in order to play "Betrayal" and to access multiplayer matches.

"Battlefield Hardline: Betrayal" will introduce four new maps, the Gun Bench which allows players to customize their gear and weapons, several new weapons as well as new vehicles. This is the fourth and final paid DLC for the game as well, officially closing the "Battlefield Hardline" series.
