'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' teaser images, plot details released

 Warner Bros./DC Entertainment

Warner Bros. is set to make an appearance in Hall H at this year's Comic-Con and the studio is expected to give out some merchandise and big reveals regarding 2016's "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice." But prior to that, a feature by Entertainment Weekly has given fans an early preview of some of the material they can look forward to seeing.

The feature report showcases several photos from the film, including a good look at Jesse Eisenberg as the villain Lex Luthor. A previous image of Luthor showed him bald but the EW photo reveals him with long locks of hair, indicating that the antagonist will be wearing a wig throughout the film or that he won't be bald until some point in the movie.

Other photos showcase a gritty look at Batman aka Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) and Superman aka Clark Kent (Henry Cavill) staring at each other prior to battle. A cover photo gives fans their second good look at Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman aka Diana Prince, and there is a shot of Affleck and Gadot together in what appears to be a formal event.

Cited by Screen Rant, Affleck told EW that Bruce Wayne and Diana Prince know each other's secret identities.

"I love the fact that there was this Thomas Crowne Affair, Bond-y sexy scene that they wrote about two people who are pretending to be two different people who each know the secrets of the other person," he said.

Affleck continued to explain that his version of Batman is an amalgamation of all previous versions while being something that fans have never seen on the big screen before, particularly the aspect of Batman's rage, weariness and pain.

He explained that his Batman is on the verge of being engulfed in his anger and rage, and this manifests in his personality as a superhero. He stated that the character is already beyond a certain point and has become both embittered and cynical. He also said that the Caped Crusader doesn't trust Superman, worried that a god-like being would impose a fascist rule over humans instead of being a true hero.

"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" opens in theaters on March 25, 2016.
