'Bates Motel' season 4 spoilers: Romero and Dylan decide to deal with Norman

Norma and Norman A&E

"Bates Motel" season 4 episode 9 will see Sheriff Romero (Nestor Carbonell) and Dylan (Max Thieriot) work together to finally deal with Norman (Freddie Highmore) following their suspicions that he is starting to lose his mind and may end up harming someone.

The previous episode saw Norman lose his mind when his mother Norma (Vera Farmiga) revealed that she genuinely loved her new husband, and Dylan also started piecing together the facts that Norman may have been responsible for the death of Emma's (Olivia Cooke) mother, Audrey (Karina Logue).

The official synopsis for the episode, courtesy of Spoilers Daily, has revealed that Dylan and Romero will be teaming together given that Norma is turning a blind eye to Norman's actions. Romero is also stated to be frustrated by Norma's ability to ignore the trouble her son can cause and decides that they need to do something to keep Norman controlled.

However, the synopsis does not reveal what these plans may be although it is speculated that the two may try to get Norman reinstated in one of the mental institutions. The last institution Norman went to revealed that he did indeed have a psychological problem where his mind would project a dark version of his mother, which was latter dubbed as his "Mother" persona.

According to Vine Report, there is a chance that these plans will eventually backfire and Norman may end up doing harm to his brother Dylan. The two have drifted apart ever since Dylan began dating Emma and Norman's frustration with this may cause him to accidentally murder his own brother.

Dylan being killed off has been speculated for some time given that he is never mentioned in the original "Psycho" movie or its sequels, hinting that he may have died before the events of "Psycho" ever took place. Fans speculate however that Dylan may simply move out of town, taking Emma with him, avoiding any future danger.

"Bates Motel" season 4 episode 9 airs this May 9.
