'Arrow' season 4 episode 15 spoilers: Vixen arrives to help save Oliver's son

Megalyn Echikunwoke as Vixen The CW

The previous episode of "Arrow" ended with Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough) kidnapping Oliver Queen's (Stephen Amell) son, William (Jack Moore). Not only will this force Oliver to admit the truth to Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) but it will force him to call for help, leading to the introduction of Vixen (Megalyn Echikunwoke).

Vixen is noted as a lesser-known DC superhero from Detroit. She was previously introduced in the animated "Vixen" web-series that told how she and Green Arrow first met but this will be the character's first live-action appearance within the Arrowverse.

Unlike the Green Arrow, who relies purely on skill and years of training, Vixen has the ability to call upon the abilities of different animals. This allows her to use the speed of a feline or the brute strength of a bear. When the character focuses entirely on just one animal type she can use its abilities to enhance her own, turning her into a formidable crime fighter.

According to a report from Cinema Blend, the episode will no longer delve into the origin story of Vixen, futher establishing the fact that the Arrowverse, which currently consists of "Arrow," "The Flash" and "Legends of Tomorrow," is more expansive than it appears and that there may be other superheroes that do exist but are not shown in the series.

There are quick snippets in the trailer showcasing not only Team Arrow, now with Vixen, fighting Damien Darhk's forces but also a possible one-on-one encounter between Green Arrow and Darhk himself.

Darhk has never showcased his physical fighting abilities, always relying on his magical capabilities, therefore this will be the first time audiences will truly see what kind of fighting abilities Darhk has and how he managed to become one of the former contenders for the title of Ra's al Ghul.

"Arrow" season 4 episode 15 will air this Wednesday, Feb. 24.
