Apple Watch vs Fitbit Blaze: Apple trumps the Blaze

Fitbit Blaze Fitbit

The Apple Watch has been able to maintain the honor of being one of the most highly regarded smartwatches in the market. However, with the recent release of the Fitbit Blaze fitness watch, the competition has gotten tighter. A report from Wareable gives an in-depth comparison between the two watches and how they function.

In regards to design, the Fitbit Blaze still retains the elastomer plastic strap but it is notably less noticeable. There is also a larger range of straps for the Blaze, allowing users to easily swap out what they use and to give the watch a more casual or formal look depending on the needs of the consumer.

Apple, however, has a wider variety due to its three unique watch designs: Watch Sport, Watch and Watch Edition. There are also dozens, if not hundreds, of unnoffical watch straps that can easily be swapped out.

The Apple Watch also has the advantage in regards to its touchscreen due to it using a higher standard of technology. It boasts an OLED display with a very high, very dense pixel resolution. In comparison, the report points out that the Blaze only uses an LCD touchscreen with lower resolution but it does come with Gorilla Glass 3 for durability.

It is also stated that the Apple Watch has an advantage when it comes to handling notifications given that the Apple Watch supports Gmail, Facebook, iTunes and more. The Fitbit Blaze does allow for simple notification management but it does not have the same wide range of support for third-party apps, not even for Facebook or Twitter.

One area where the Blaze has a clear advantage is in the fitness department. While the Apple Watch has a large set of fitness apps and capabilities the Blaze has nearly twice as many as they are all built into the Blaze right from the get-go. Neither watch has built-in GPS, however, and is an area their successors are reported to have.

The Blaze also has a far better battery life as the report states it does last for five days while the Apple Watch will only last a good day or two depending on use.

If you look at the Church of England’s communications all that it ever seems to highlight is the good works that Christians do to improve the temporal well-being of their neighbours. It is right to highlight these things, but they are not the primary reason for the Church’s existence.
