iPad Pro release date in fall?

iPad Air

Rumors regarding the launch of a 12.9-inch tablet called iPad Pro by Apple have been circulating since early this year. Some reports claim that the purported latest addition to Apple's products will be publicly released at practically the same time as the Touch ID-equipped iPad Air 2 and upgraded iPad mini, which is said to pack a Retina display. Hence, the rumored release for the 12.9-inch iPad Pro is roughly in the fall.

In attempting to match the devices offered by Samsung, Apple has been considering launching an iPad that will have a display bigger than the usual 9.7-inch screen. This screen display is the current size used by the iPad Air. With respect to the uniformity of the names of their gadgets, sources believe that Apple wants to ensure that their tablet and Mac roster will be consistently named. Hence, the rumored larger iPad might be officially named the iPad Pro.

In May, a photo leaked online of the iPad Pro body or casing. The photo originated from Weibo, a social media site similar to Twitter and widely used in China. The purported leaked photo was then republished by Nowhereelse.fr. The inferior quality of the picture does not really provide intricate details, but the Apple logo appears to be evident in what is deemed to be the rear casing of the rumored iPad Pro.

Earlier reports disclosed that Apple might have put the production of the 12.9-inch gadget on hold. The delay might have been caused by the difficulties faced by the company, which were purportedly rooted from the lack of support from related platform developers and ecosystems. However, recent news confirm that the production of the soon-to-be-released iPad Pro has continued. This confirmation might be an even more evident indication that the rumored larger iPad can make its debut by fall of this year.
