Android lovers are all excitedly waiting for the newest Google mobile OS to hit their smartphones. Soon after the Android 5.0 Lollipop was released, smartphone manufacturers have been giving updates on when their phone models can be updated with it.

According to Tech Times, among the smartphones and tablets that have already received the Lollipop OS are Nexus 6, Nexus 9, HTC One M7 Google Play Edition, HTC One M8 Google Play Edition, Moto X, Moto G and Moto E.

As one may notice, these phones are all very close to Google, which is why the update for the phone models was rolled out quickly. Even the Motorola phones got their update sooner than Samsung's phones. The primary reason for this is that Samsung, LG and HTC use a separate skin on their mobile phones. They do this to make the OS more user-friendly on their gadgets.

Like Samsung, HTC and LG, the software update for Motorola also undergo testing with the skins to make sure it runs smoothly without any problems. However, Motorola took Google's advice to heart and stuck with a near Android stock version on its smartphones. Hence, the result is a shortened time period to get the update.

Unfortunately, Samsung, LG and HTC phone owners may have to wait a little bit longer to get their updates. According to French carrier SFR's Android 5.0 Lollipop update schedule, the Samsung Galaxy S5 will get the Lollipop update this December. The Samsung Galaxy Note 4's update was initially expected this December, too, but it was moved to January 2015.

As for the LG G3 Lollipop update, the only thing SFR said is that it is "coming soon." Owners can keep their fingers crossed for the new OS to come in a few days.
