The Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for the Google Nexus 7 2 to fix the touchscreen glitch has been rolled out, including a patch to fix the GPS issue as well.
Users of the new Google Nexus 7 2 tablet have taken to forums to complain about the touchscreen registering "phantom" fingers and the GPS auto-shutdown glitch.
The latest update to be rolled out is the JSS15Q and JWR66Y build version. The JSS15Q build fixes both problems.
The update has been sent out to Nexus 7 2 users over the air (OTA).
"This update does address the touchscreen issues discussed in this thread," said Paul Wilcox on Google Product Forums. "If you're one of the people experiencing touchscreen issues, please let us know how it's going after you've received and installed the update. "Thank you for your patience while we've been working on this."
The new Nexus 7 tablet has a 7-inch display with 1920 x 1200 resolution, quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 2GB RAM, 5MP camera, and is available with 16GB or 32GB of storage.
Meanwhile, the Android 4.3 update is looming for the Nexus 4, which reportedly has issues with Wi-Fi. The update is expected to fix the Wi-Fi issue and cellular connection issues as well.
The JWR66Y OTA update was made available last week and improves security on the Nexus 4 and Galaxy Nexus.
