'American Horror Story' season 4 spoilers: Jessica Lange to find new member for freak show

As the "American Horror Story" is set to return to its usual timeslot next month, FX finally reveals some official spoilers of the show's fourth season entitled "American Horror Story: Freak Show."

The premiere episode of "American Horror Story" season 4 will air on Oct. 8. Entitled "Monsters Among Us," it was written by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, and directed by Ryan Murphy. According to the official synopsis released by FX:

"One of the only surviving sideshows in the country struggles to stay in business during the dawning era of television. When police make a terrifying discovery at a local farmhouse, the eccentric purveyor of the freak show sees an opportunity that will lead her troupe either to their salvation or ruin."

The first episode will probably introduce the members of the freak show. The report said that the episode will center on ringmaster Elsa Mars (Jessica Lange) as she scouts for deformed and unique people to join her show. It is unknown who she will find in the farm houses, but it is speculated that it will be Sarah Paulson's character – the conjoined twins, Dot and Bette.

The cast of "American Horror Story: Freak Show" will include Kathy Bates as Effil Darling, Evan Peters as Jimmy Darling, Emma Roberts as Maggie, Angela Bassett as Desiree Dupree, Michael Chiklis as Wendell Del Toledo, and Jessica Lange as Elsa Mars, the ringmaster. Some reports claim that Lea Michele could be one of the regular casts of the upcoming season of the series, although the details of her character are still under wraps.

The show's fourth season is claimed to be the scariest season of the horror TV series. It probably is – John Carroll Lynch's role as the "Killer Clown" is highly anticipated and is expected to give waiting fans the creeps.

"American Horror Story" season 4 will go on air on Oct. 8 on FX.
