'Agents of SHIELD' season 3 plot news: Com-Con poster reveals big Agent Coulson spoiler

Agents of SHIELD season 3 Comic-Con poster ABC, Marvel Studios

"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 2 ended with a lot of quirky cliffhangers. Skye (Chloe Bennet ) was revealed to be Daisy Johnson and will now lead a group of Inhumans known as the Secret Warriors; Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) was sucked into the Kree weapon; and Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) lost his left hand.

However, as reported by the IBTimes, the new Comic-Con poster for "Agents of SHIELD" season 3, done by artist Jim Cheung and colorist Romulo Fajardo Jr., reveal that Coulson won't be missing his hand for very long.

In the poster, he is depicted with what appears to be a robotic hand although many fans also speculate that this might not just be something from Stark Industries and could be alien technology. However, simply getting a new hand doesn't mean Coulson won't feel depressed and troubled.

As quoted back in May by the Hollywood Reporter, executive producer Jeffrey Bell stated, "We live in the Marvel Universe, and in the MU, there's all kinds of cool technology and medical stuff where people can lose a hand or have a brain operated on and come back different but more intriguing. So for us it's not just the physical thing, but the emotional thing of Coulson losing a part of himself."

According to the report from IBTimes, there is a chance the new hand may be from alien — possibly Kree — technology, but given Coulson's experience with Project TAHITI, he may not be so eager to get involved with alien tech in a while. The report indicates that perhaps his time with several Inhumans might change his mind.

The Comic-Con poster doesn't reveal any of the members of the Secret Warriors although it does put Skye and Coulson front and center. It is likely that the poster is just a teaser to the spoilers fans will be privy to upon attending this year's Comic-Con in San Diego.

"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 3 kicks off on Sept. 29.
