Samsung Galaxy S6: New concept images visualize handset's features

Samsung Galaxy S5, predecessor to the rumored Galaxy S6.

With the current Samsung Galaxy S5 already considered as something from the past, there is a need for the company to update the device. A lot of people are taking interest in the Samsung Galaxy S6, and three new concept images surfaced online that imagines the upcoming specs and features of the handset.

The first concept image was visualized by Jermaine Smit who came up with a lot of concept images of various devices. He imagines that the new Galaxy S smartphone will come with metal frame but with plastic back plate. The handset will also have edge-to-edge screen display and fingerprint sensor. It seems that the concept image will ditch the rumored heart sensor of the device.

The second concept image appeared in a video posted by 91mobiles.com. According to the video, the smartphone will be equipped with a 5.5-inch screen display with 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution. The handset will be water resistant and dustproof.  Instead of a metal casing, the handset will come with a faux leather casing. At the back, the device will come with a standard three-button design and a biometric fingerprint scanner. Moreover, the handset is purported to sport a 20-megapixel ISOCELL camera with dual LED flash and 5-megapixel front-facing camera.  Other details of the smartphone are: 4 GB of RAM, 4G LTE, 3300 mAh battery with Ultra Power Saving mode, and Android 5.0 Lollipop OS.

Lastly, the third concept image is from Giztimes.com. The render boasts a 5.5-inch display, Snapdragon 805 processor, 3 GB of RAM, Android 5.0 Lollipop, 18-megapixel back camera, and fingerprint and retina scanner. The handset will also pack a waterproof body and air gesture controls.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 release date will most likely happen in early 2015 following the pattern of release last year. Thus, consumers should anticipate the handset at next year's Mobile World Congress event.

However, Samsung has not commented on the rumors regarding Samsung Galaxy S6.
