The 2019 Mini Hardtop and Convertible models are headed to the North American International Auto Show in Detroit next week. The refreshed compact cars feature new design elements, updated technologies and more customization options.

Mini's small cars are available in three-door and five-door configurations for the hardtop body style alongside the convertible model. Though most of the exterior design remains unchanged, the 2019 models are now available with new lighting fixtures. The LED headlights feature a more expressive design while the LED taillights come with a Union Jack pattern, which pays tribute to the British heritage of the brand.

The refreshed vehicles also feature Mini's new logo which takes on a more two-dimensional appearance to reflect the automaker's focus what is truly essential — the driving experience, a distinct design, high-quality output and emotional appeal to customers. The updated logo can be seen on the bonnet, tailgate, steering wheel, central instrument display and remote control.

Mini is also known for offering customers a wide range of customization options. For the 2019 Hardtop and Convertible models, customers will be able to choose from three new metallic body finishes: Emerald Gray, Starlight Blue and Solaris Orange. They can also opt for a Piano Black exterior which provides a high-gloss black finish instead of the standard chrome. Moreover, the 17-inch light alloy wheels gain new two-spoke designs.

As for the interior, there is a variety of leather trims, interior surfaces and color choices — including Malt Brown Chesterfield leather upholstery and Piano Black interiors with a Union Jack motif and matching ambient lighting.

The newly launched Mini Yours Customized service will also allow customers to create unique and personalized accessories for the 2019 Mini Hardtop and Convertible models.

New standard features for the refreshed small cars include a multifunctional steering wheel with controls for setting the speed limit, audio and communication settings as well as a 6.5-inch infotainment system with a USB port and Bluetooth connectivity. Meanwhile, optional features include an 8.8-inch touchscreen display with Apple CarPlay compatibility, a navigation system, wireless charging, a second USB port and 4G LTE connectivity.

To present all these latest advancements for the 2019 Hardtop and Convertible models, Mini will have a press conference at the Detroit Motor Show on Monday, Jan. 15 at 9:35 a.m. EST.
