2017 Honda Ridgeline specs, price: Truck that drives like a car starts at $29,000

The next generation Honda Ridgeline Honda

According to a report from The Car Connection, the 2017 Honda Ridgeline is a unique truck as it sits just below the raw power of the Ford-150 but is notably a firm competitor against the likes of the Toyota Tacoma, Chevrolet Colorado and even the GMC Canyon. Most notable is its low suggested retail price and driving capabilities.

According to the report, the lowest SRP for the 2017 Honda Ridgeline starts at just above $29,000 and the highest trim with all options added can cost up to $$41,000 and a little more depending on engine type and customization choices for the vehicle. This makes it one of the more affordable midsize pickup trucks on the market today.

Visually, the Ridgeline no longer follows the much-hated design of the 2014 and older models and instead goes for a streamlined, cleaner look that is reportedly reminiscent of a car or SUV mixed with the more ridged roof and side walls. The interiors are a wide display of controls that meet at a center touch-screen for optimal convenience.

In terms of power, the truck can push out a total of 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque with maximum curb weight ranging between 4,200 and 4,400 pounds. The truck only offers a 6-speed automatic transmission. Its design and power grants it a mileage rate of 19 mph city and 26 mph highway, with a combined rate of 22 mph.

According to Auto Week, the Ridgeline also bridges the gap between driving a truck and a car as the Ridgeline is designed with comfort and ease of use in mind. This makes it much smoother and easier to drive when the truck is compared to its contemporaries.

Overall, the truck is stated to be a perfect choice between those who want optimal comfort and maximum hauling strength. While it might not be the best pickup truck for heavy duty work such as hauling a large vehicle, it will be more than adequate when hauling construction materials, furniture for relocation and others.
