More details regarding the upcoming 2017 model of the Audi A4 have been released, as per Motor Authority. The current specs reveal that the car is going to be lighter, faster and more advanced than any of the previous iterations due to the implementation of newer technology and an entirely new build.

According to the report, the vehicle will come with only one engine option, which is a 4-cylinder 2.0-liter turbocharged engine capable of pushing 252 horsepower and a maximum of 273 pound-feet of torque. It is also stated that a diesel variety has been ruled out for the time being.

Front-wheel drive will be the standard and according to the report, CVT will not be an available option. The only transmission option is a 7-speed dual clutch and consumers can still avail of an optional four-wheel drive variant. However, according to a separate report from Release Dates News Cars, the Audi A4 may have a CVT variant.

The car's mileage is currently rated at 25 MPG in the city, 33 MPG on the highway and 28 MPG combined, making it a very fuel-efficient vehicle. The new Audi A4 is also rated to reach 60 MPH in 6.1 seconds and is capable of reaching this speed in 5.7 seconds with the all-wheel version.

It is also important to note that the Audi A4 comes with the MLB Evo architecture, making it more than 200 pounds lighter than previous models. This also translates to a more luxurious interior design and a more aerodynamic exterior design.

Motor Authority states that the 2017 Audi A4 has a suggested retail price of $38,250 while the all-wheel variant will cost roughly $2,100 more. The vehicle will also come with a $980 destination charge and the report points out that this may increase the starting price of the outgoing Audi A4 model by $1,425.

The 2017 Audi A4 is expected to be released for the public by early 2017.
