128GB iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus sales problems: Apple device still suffers supply constraints

iPhone 6 buyers from the United States are being treated with an early Christmas treat as Apple Stores have vastly improved the shipping dates of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus from all carriers to just 1 business day. However, the smartphones that are readily available are only the 16 GB and 64 GB variants.

Meanwhile, the 128 GB model still suffers slight restraints in supply. The smartphone is delivered to buyers in 3 to 5 business days. Previous expected delivery dates are 3 to 5 days for the 16 GB and 64 GB models and 7 to 10 days for 128 GB models.

Shipping has also improved in the following countries: Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the United Kingdom, Mexico, Thailand, Philippines, etc.

Aside from improved shipping dates, the in-hand stocks in stores also improved in various locations. Reports have claimed that it is now possible to walk-in and purchase an iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus in many stores and retailers.

Since its release in September, the supply of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus have been severely constrained, but Apple worked hard in improving the supply of the smartphones. Some reports even claim that Apple purposely delayed the release of the iPad Pro to focus on the production of the new smartphones.

Meanwhile, amid the supply woes, Apple is reported to be hitting its target sales for the fourth quarter of the year and will surpass the Q3 sales. This is supported by analysts' claims that Apple will hit 65 to 70 million sales this quarter.

iPhone sales were largely helped by its popularity in China that rendered 30 million units alone. China is Apple's biggest market this year, bigger than the United States.

The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus both pack larger screen dispays of 4.7 inches and 5.5 inches respectively. Other features of the smartphones are: A8 processor, M8 graphics co-processor, iOS 8, 8 MP iSight camera, and up to 9 hours of battery life. The smartphones are available in larger storage systems with 16 GB, 64 GB, and 128 GB variants, although the phones, as usual for Apple, do not allow for memory expansion via SD memory cards.
